President Biden attended mass on the first Sunday after entering the White House – then stopped on his way home at a popular DC joint bagel.
The country’s second Catholic president attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church in the Georgetown area of Washington, DC, the same church that President John F. Kennedy, the country’s first Catholic Commander-in-Chief used to attend .
Biden, 78, was accompanied by his son, Hunter, and Hunter’s two children, Finnegan and Maisey.
When asked about the service, Biden said it was “lovely.”
On the return trip to the White House, the presidential motorcade stopped and Hunter Biden jumped in for a quick run to Call Your Mother, a popular grocery store near the church known for its bagels.
Hunter stayed at the takeout window for several minutes as the President and his granddaughters stayed in the limo.
Biden attended Mass for Saint Matthew the Apostle with a contingent of Democratic and Republican Congressional leaders on the morning of his inauguration and Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband.
