Wendy Sherman, who led the US negotiating team for the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, is her choice for Deputy Secretary of State. Biden vowed to resume the deal, reversing President Trump’s 2018 withdrawal.

Sherman tweeted that she is “so honored to be named to join this amazing team”.
Victoria Nuland, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs in the Obama administration, is Biden’s choice for Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs.
Nuland and Sherman are the two most prominent former Obama officials among the five officials announced on Saturday. They will serve under the new Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, who served as Assistant Secretary of State and Senior Deputy National Security Advisor in the Obama administration.
“This diverse and accomplished team, led by Secretary of State-designate Blinken, embodies my core belief that America is strongest when it works with our allies,” Biden said in a statement.
