President Biden supports a bipartisan investigation into the Jan.6 attack on Capitol Hill and believes anyone who has watched the events unfold should do so as well.

On January 6, supporters of former President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol, seeking to prevent lawmakers from certifying Biden’s election victory. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) Formed a select 13-member committee to investigate the attack, and placed eight people on the panel, including Representative Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.).
Minority parliamentary leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) Selected five GOP lawmakers for the committee, and Wednesday Pelosi dismissed two: Trump’s staunch ally, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.), Who both voted in favor of challenging voter certification. McCarthy said without the five members of the committee, Republicans would not participate in the investigative process.
Biden also slammed conspiracy theorists for spreading “venom” on the coronavirus and the Jan.6 attack, telling the town hall audience: “You can’t listen to people saying this is a peaceful march. ” They go hand in hand with people who believe in the bogus QAnon plot, Biden said, and the United States must “get beyond that. It’s not who we are.”
