Big Blue Pantry Fills Up For UK Students

[ad_1]

The Big Blue Pantry’s mission is to provide support and awareness to food insecure students across campus, as well as educate the general student body about hunger.

Since opening its doors in 2014, the Big Blue Pantry has grown each year in both the number of visitors and the food provided to students. Primarily supported by donations, the Big Blue Pantry accepts both monetary and physical donations.

To donate to the Big Blue Pantry Gift Fund, please visit this website. To partner with the Big Blue Pantry for a fundraising campaign, contact them at [email protected].

The Big Blue Pantry offers a wide variety of food items, as well as personal hygiene and housekeeping products.

Because the pantry is supported by donations, the items on the shelf can change frequently. The Big Blue Pantry keeps basic foods (milk, eggs, bread, peanut butter, soups, canned vegetables, canned meats and pasta) on the shelf at all times.

The opening hours for this semester will be:

  • Monday: 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 2 p.m.-5 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Thursday: 2 p.m.-5 p.m.
  • Friday: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Hours are subject to change throughout the semester. The Big Blue Pantry will be closed on Labor Day (Monday, September 6).

The Big Blue Pantry is located in the basement of the White Hall Classroom Building, Room 025 (right next to the Post Office). If you cannot stop during the times stated above, please send an email to [email protected] to make an appointment.
