Update: Bethesda declined to confirm or categorically deny the report below, but notes that there has been no official announcement regarding a cancellation.

Original: A big Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite game would have been canned. According to a new report, GameStop has alerted its customers and issued refunds for anything that purchased one of this year’s biggest versions for the Switch and Switch Lite, and that version is DOOM Eternal, which debuted in March via the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia. At the time of its publication, the report has not been validated by any of the three parties involved – GameStop, Bethesda or Nintendo – but several reports have surfaced.

The most notable of these reports is that of Spawn wave, which notes that “GameStop has been informed that DOOM Eternal on Switch has been canceled. On top of that, the report notes that it’s possible that either the original SKU reference was canceled or the game could just be a digital version only now.

As noted, this is not the only report relaying this news. During the day, several reports from different users found their way to Twitter.

As noted, no official party has confirmed these reports, so for now take everything here with a grain of salt until more official information is provided. That said, when and if this information is provided, we will update the story accordingly. As for CONDEMN Eternalofficially, it’s still in development for Switch and Switch Lite, but there hasn’t been a release date.
