Biggios now the second father-son duo to fight for cycles

Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Cavan Biggio played for the cycle in the Tuesday night match against the Orioles, earning a triple that led in two innings to the top of the ninth.

The rookie came in ninth on the Orioles pitcher, Mychal Givens, after hitting a singles, doubles and a circuit earlier in the game.

Craig Biggio, Cavan's father, had a career with the Astros on April 8, 2002, against the Rockies. Craig and Cavan Biggio are the second father-son duo in the history of the MLB to experience a cycle in their careers. They join Gary and Daryle Ward.

Biggio, 24, joins Kelly Gruber (April 16, 1989 against the Royals) and Jeff Frye (August 17, 2001 against the Rangers) as Blue Jays to hit for the cycle.

Biggio also had two stolen bases. Biggio is only the second player in the last 100 years to hit for the cycle and have several bases stolen in the same game, joining Charlie Moore in 1980.
