OnePlus teases some custom changes made to Android TV for its upcoming OnePlus TV. Today, we take a look at this smartphone integration with the latest teaser from OnePlus TV.
Nomad Case for Pixel 3
This week, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau released two teasers on smartphone integration on the OnePlus TV. The first one was a look at an application running on a OnePlus 7 Pro in front of the previously revealed remote, indicating how an application could replace your remote. It was also something that OnePlus had teased in a previous interview, calling the integration "transparent".
We now see what makes this integration so transparent. A very brief GIF The figure below shows what appears to be a custom Android TV keyboard and a kind of custom application on the OnePlus TV. Beside that, we can see a smartphone app that is clearly the application that OnePlus will offer remotely. As the words "Wonder Woman" are entered on the smartphone, the text immediately appears on the OnePlus TV.
Obviously, the integration of the smartphone on the OnePlus TV is fast. It's certainly faster than Google's old Android remote app, but I think it's safe to say it's about the same speed as Nvidia Shield TV.
Anyway, it shows the level of integration that OnePlus is aiming for with its television. The interface is clean and fast and we are looking forward to seeing more apps. At first glance, there is something related to the camera.
