Several shots rang out early Saturday in the gambling hall of the Golden Nugget Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi, resulting in the death of one man and the arrest of another, according to reports.

Biloxi police arrested Jereme Lamond Jones, 30, of Mobile, Alabama, and charged him with first degree murder in the death of a 41-year-old man from Gulfport, Mississippi, whose identity is unknown. not disclosed.

The suspect and victim were arguing outside the casino, and then the suspect followed the victim inside and shot him several times at close range, Alabama’s AL.com reported.

Authorities said no one else was injured. It was not clear whether the casino’s customers and employees were in the vicinity of the shooting scene.

Police said in a statement they were not immediately sure whether the suspect and the victim knew each other.

The officers who responded arrested Jones in the Biloxi Bay Bridge area, police said in a Facebook post. Rescuers tried to rescue the victim before his death, the newspaper said.
