(Reuters) – Bitcoin continued to gain on Sunday, hitting a new high and extending a two-month rally that took its market cap above $ 1 trillion on Friday.

The world’s most popular cryptocurrency hit a record high of $ 58,354, taking its weekly gain to around 20%. It has jumped about 100% this year.

Bitcoin’s gains have been fueled by evidence that it is increasingly accepted by mainstream investors and businesses, such as Tesla Inc, Mastercard Inc, and BNY Mellon.
