Black Ops Cold War Zombie Weapons XP Rate Reportedly Broken

After accidentally giving players a way to gain too much Weapon EXP in Black Ops Cold War Zombies, Treyarch now appears to have completely broken the system.

Right now, Black Ops Cold War players can enjoy double XP in online multiplayer until the end of the month. However, fans quickly realized that this boost seemed to apply to zombies as well, to a large extent.

According to Reddit fans, playing Black Ops Cold War Zombies for a while would allow players to upgrade their weapons four times faster. It seems that while the Zombies previously offered a huge boost to XP gains, today it offers very little.

Black Ops Cold War Zombies Weapon XP Broken?

In a quick effort to fix Zombies Weapon XP’s unintended surge, Treyarch may have broken the system completely. Players are now reporting less Weapon XP than before the Double XP Week started, and many believe this is the slowest progression ever.

With the Zombies XP boost, one Reddit user upgraded their Type 63 about 40 times in a single game. Granted, the user made it to Round 100, but their rewards were well worth it.

During this time, they not only upgraded a handful of weapons, but also unlocked every accessory and camouflage they could dream of. This is in addition to the XP bonus earned by unlocking all of these achievements.

That’s enough to make all Black Ops Cold War fans jealous, especially since we’re back to slow progress. Overall, users have already widely criticized the slowness of Cold War weapon upgrades.

Double XP week was a great opportunity to bring more weapons to a usable state. Having Zombies for bonus XP was a great alternative to online grind.

Now, however, the fanbase has lost faith that Treyarch is even going to bring XP back to regular levels. One Reddit user reports that he managed a Black Ops Cold War Zombies Exfil in Round 31, but only leveled his FFAR 6 times.
