Portland Trail Blazers basketball operations president Neil Olshey has been granted a contract extension that extends his contract until the 2023-24 season, the team announced Friday.

Olshey has built a lasting Western Conference playoff team in her seven seasons, including consecutive third-seeded titles and the franchise's first participation in the conference final in 19 years.

Portland has reached the playoffs in six consecutive seasons. The extra time for Olshey and coach Terry Stotts, who is signed for the 2021-22 season, constitute a public reinforcement of the property's commitment after the death of long-time owner Paul Allen, the ### 39, last year.

"Neil has done an outstanding job retaining the talent that has made the Trail Blazers a perennial playoff team, culminating in this season's magical race at the Western Conference Finals," said the President. of the team, Jody Allen, in a statement. "I have great confidence in the culture that he has created in Portland and I look forward to seeing it flourish for years to come."

Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum, the two Blazers' franchise keepers, are eligible for contract extensions this summer. Both were candidates for Olshey's selection who became the backbone of the organization.
