ANKENY – The undefeated double Marshalltown boys’ golf record for the 2021 season fell by a narrow margin Monday afternoon at Briarwood Golf Course, as the Bobcats lost their nine-hole double 151-153 to the Ankeny Centennial Jaguars.
The Bobcats got a co-medalist score from senior Grant Greazel, who clocked a 1 under 35 to lead the team from first place. He is tied for honors with Ankeny Centennial’s Ben Meier, who shot a 35 for the team’s sixth place finish, giving the Jaguars the winning boost.
Second for the Bobcats was a 2-over 38 from Colin Schmit, who got off to a flying start with three birdies over four holes before an out of bounds shot on the fifth hole and a double bogey on the seventh knocked him out of the hole. red numbers.
Drake Polley shot 3 of 39 to finish third on the team, and Ryan Schmit had a tough outing, shooting 5 of 41 and placing fourth.
