BOE extends COVID-19 sickness benefits – Atmore News

Sickness benefits for absences due to COVID-19 were extended for employees of the Escambia County school system during the board meeting on Friday, August 27. These benefits were paid last year but were not available this school year until now.

The Board of Directors approved a resolution for the extension of COVID-19 emergency paid sick leave under the Extended Families First Coronavirus Response Act under the American Recovery Plan Act of 2021. This resolution extended COVID-19 sick pay from August 1, 2021 through September 30, 2021 and offers up to 10 days of emergency paid sick leave.
