Alessia Cara returns to social media after leaving because of online bullying

TORONTO – Alessia Cara suddenly returned to social media, saying she did not want unpleasant comments to prevent her from interacting with her fans.

The 22-year-old singer from Brampton, Ontario, posted on her Twitter account on Wednesday night, calling her short breakout of the platform the "shortest break."

A little over a day earlier, the Grammy-winning pop artist moved away from Twitter and Instagram claiming that she needed "a few moments" of the sometimes vicious messages that strangers sent her.

His decision was accompanied by screenshots of his Twitter account showing users criticizing his appearance and shooting him obscenities.

But Cara's release was brief, which she acknowledged was partly due to the release of her new album "The Pains of Growing" on Friday.

Cara said she did not want the launch of her album to be "tarnished by my sensitivity to the hits of my ego" and that it would not be fair to leave her fans in suspense as they "always showed themselves " for her.
