32 constituencies likely to go
Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) factions threaten to undermine the ruling party's performance in the 2019 general election.
A report leaked by one of the party members at Tsholetsa House indicates that research has shown that the party is likely to lose 32 constituencies if it does not put order in its rooms.
The report also shows that the ruling party has lost the constituencies of Gaborone, Mochudi, Molepolole, Maun, Kgalagadi, Gantsi, Selibi-Phikwe and Kanye.
Some of the constituencies in which the report indicates that BDP should work extremely hard to win include Ngami, Okavango, Tati West, South Francistown, Nkange, Palapye, Bobobong, Tlokweng, Mogoditshane, Gabane -Mankankodi, Takatokwane, Letlhakeng-Lephepe and Goodhope-Mabule .
Commenting on the report, a worried BDP carder who wished to remain anonymous said: "Okavango has never been our constituency, it belongs to the Botswana Congress Party. We won the Ngami with very little margin in 2014, but in Mogoditshane we still have no candidate. The party member also pointed out that some of the revisions to the primary elections that the party sanctioned would aggravate the BDP's problems as losers. start to demystify the party.

However, BDP Secretary-General Mpho Balopi said the report could be one of their ad hoc badyzes and there would be no reason to worry.
