IN DISPUTE: Residents of Motlhabaneng

A cheffery storm that is brewing in the small village of Motlhabaneng in Bobirwa threatens to tear families and friends apart.

A dispute over the legitimate heir to Sepoda's chieftaincy reached toxic levels with a band rallying behind the current leader, Elias Modeme, and the other in support of Moses Mphale who wants Modeme to return him the throne because he believes that he is the rightful heir.

Mphale claims that his lineage is the legitimate heirs of the throne because he believes that Modeme was installed in 2003 to hold the fort for his late brother, Judge Mphale.

"There was a written agreement that was witnessed by Bobonong's chief Mmirwa Malema" The Voice

He said the case was heard in Bobonong and that the judgment was rendered in their favor .
"Modeme appealed, but when we came here for his call, Kgosi Dialwa Motsamai of Tsetseb" We are of the opinion that Kgosi Motsamai was wrong to try the case again . Last weekend, The Voice attended a chaotic meeting of Kgotla, Kgosi Motsamai and his entourage including Kgosi Olgas Serumola (Mmathethe) and Kgosi Selelo Pelontle (Tsetsebjwe). He lost control as both factions categorically refused to participate in the election of a new Kgosi.

In his final decision after a confrontation between the two factions, Motsamai declared that the elections would then be held at the end of the Modem contract.

This did not go well with the Mphale faction, as they claimed their throne.
"We sent a call to Bobonong. We do not know what contract he's talking about. The only thing we know as the legitimate heirs, it's a written agreement we had with Modeme", declared the aspiring chief of Mphale tribe
