FIFA will hear the appeal against Chelsea on April 11

LAUSANNE, Switzerland – FIFA will hear Chelsea's call for a one-year transfer ban on April 11.

FIFA states that Chelsea received written reasons from its Discipline Committee justifying the one-year ban and explaining why a request for freezing the ban during the appeal proceedings was rejected.

Chelsea may apply to the Court of Arbitration for Sport to obtain a provisional judgment terminating the sanction pending the appeal of FIFA. The CAS states that Chelsea did not request such an interim measure.

In February, FIFA banned Chelsea from registering new players for two transfer periods – after this season and in January 2020 – for breaking the rules protecting teenage players. The club denies having committed a wrongdoing.

FIFA claims that Chelsea broke the rules in 29 cases and imposed a fine of 600,000 Swiss francs ($ 600,000).
