Like many JBL home stations, the On Air Speaker docking station looks less like a stereo than a Sharper Image anti-ionization purifier reused by the BBC in the headset for one of the villains more disposable of Doctor Who, but beyond the strange style and you will see the first JBL AirPlay compatible dock.

Now delivered to BestBuys and Apple Stores across the country, JBL's willingness to write a check on AirPlay licensing fees means that you should be able to stream your iTunes library directly to the dock, wherever you are. The unorthodox design is supposed to fill the room with 360 degrees sound; otherwise you will find a color LCD screen, a digital FM radio, an integrated alarm clock, etc.

$ 349.99, however. AirPlay or not, it's more than what a Doctor Who helmet should cost.
