Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) will begin February 1, 2019 processing the cargo of Lufthansa Cargo at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

The new contract provides for WFS to process approximately 30,000 tonnes per year, serving the airline's combined truck and air freight products.

WFS already processes more than 220,000 tonnes per year for some 70 airline customers in Amsterdam Schiphol and plans a further expansion of its operations at the airport in 2019.

Stéphane Scholving, WFS's new managing director in Amsterdam, said: "The acquisition of a new and prestigious customer like Lufthansa Cargo is another major badet for the growth of our cargo handling operations in Amsterdam. By awarding this contract to WFS, Lufthansa clearly acknowledged that we share the airline's high-level commitment to quality, safety and security. We look forward to forming a long-term partnership with the airline in one of its main European stations. "
