This followed an unfortunate and tragic illness that cost him his leg; perhaps if better immediate medical care had been available, his life could have been spared.
Mogakolodi Nelson Boikanyo was an incredible human being. Whenever he entered a room, his big smile filled the room with light. Mogakolodi was a modest man, but very intelligent and very creative and talented in the arts.
Mogakolodi loved the Setswana language and wrote Setswana novels and stories, which have since been used in schools across the country. He loved photography and became a self-taught photojournalist. He has not only become very accomplished, but has also achieved the status of award-winning photojournalist.
As he continued to develop his skills, he became more and more interested in the investigative aspects of journalism, especially criminal investigations. This pbadion became so strong that he pursued a university degree in the United States. He graduated, with highest honors, from Allegheny County Community College (CCAC), in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 2011.
Mogakolodi was admitted to Phi Theta Kappa, a society of 39, honor for the best scholastic pupils. He has a degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology and an Associate Diploma in Computer Forensics.
He was accepted to the University of Botswana to complete a four-year Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Studies and worked hard for graduation
His illness slows him down in the His goal, but it only took him a few extra hours to graduate and graduate. He was eager to apply for a graduate program. Mogakolodi built his own house in Sikwane and, more recently, developed land in Kasane. He also owned a farm near the Limpopo River, where he raised chickens raised outdoors, ducks, geese, goats and pigs. He loved farming and was eager to spend more time on the farm and develop this important resource for his community.
But more important to Mogakolodi than his achievements or his possessions, it was his daughter, Koketso Sheebah K. Letsati. While he frequently called her KK, he was more often called Queen Sheebah or simply "Queen".
KK was
the light of Mogakolodi's life; he loved his daughter and always wanted the best life for her. Mogakolodi really loved children and never wanted to see the harm done to any child. He once saved the lives of several young children who accidentally ran in front of his beloved Subaru on a road in a village outside Gaborone. He could not break fast enough, and he had to make a decision in a split second.
He could not deviate in one direction because of a building, and he refused to hit the children, so he swerved in the other direction. , in a culvert on the side of the road. His Subaru rolled again and again, before stopping upside down, crushed flat like a grill cake. With the airbags on, he managed to force an opening in the driver's side window and crawled. He got up and was able to leave. No one on the site could believe that he had not been killed, let alone to get out of the wreckage and get away. An elderly gentleman from the village had rushed to the car and when he saw Mogakolodi appear, he exclaimed, "Rasta! God was driving with you!
Mogakolodi made the choice of a hero that day, to risk his life for the children of Botswana. He made a difference with his choice to risk hurting himself against the injuries suffered by small children that day, and he should be honored by everyone for that!
Mogakolodi Nelson Boikanyo was an incredible human being. The world is better because Mogakolodi honored us with his presence. His beautiful spirit and vital energy will always be with those of us who knew him and loved him.
Mogakolodi, Botswana's remarkable son, will always be with those whom he loved. At the time of his death, he was working as a student at the university, as an independent photojournalist and also as a farmer. He will be sadly missed by his beloved daughter, Koketso Sheebah K. Letsati, his girlfriend, Lisa Lopez Levers, from the United States, as well as other members of his family.
