Nissan and EVgo announced Tuesday that they would install 200 additional DC fast chargers in the United States to support the growing number of consumers buying electric vehicles, including the new Nissan Leaf e + marketed earlier this year.

The 100-kilowatt DC fast charging stations will have both CHAdeMO and CCS connectors, making them accessible to more EV drivers. The inclusion of both charger connectors makes sense; This is also the case of Nissan, one of the main advocates for CHAdeMO chargers.

This announcement stems from the company's six-year partnership, which included the construction of an electric vehicle charging lane along Interstate 95 on the east coast as well as between Monterey, California and Lake Tahoe.

Nissan claims to have installed more than 2,000 fast charge connectors across the country since 2010.

The addition of 200 additional fast chargers is envisaged after the launch of the Nissan Leaf e + 2019. The Nissan Leaf e +, which arrived in the United States and Canada this spring, offers a range of 226 miles and a fast charge capacity.

This new version of the all-electric Leaf liftgate has a 40% longer battery life than other versions thanks to a 62-kilowatt-hour battery.
