Jump the neck

It's something everyone does, but for a young father from Oklahoma, it almost cost him his life.

Oklahoma City's KOCO television reported that Josh Hader of Guthrie, Oklahoma, tore an artery around his neck – an artery leading to his brain.

"As soon as I heard the pop, everything left began to get numb," said Hader, 28, at the station. "I got up and tried to grab an ice pack in the fridge and I remember that I could not walk straight."

He found himself in an emergency, where the doctors told him that he could have died very well.

"He could have formed more clot on this tear and endured a life-ending stroke," said Dr. Vance McCollom of Mercy Hospital in KOCO.

But fortunately, Hader will recover, said his medical team. He takes medication and also follows a physical therapy.
