SAINT BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Courtney Stockard scored 19 points, rookie Osun Osunniyi had 12 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks for his first double double of the season and Saint Bonaventure defeated Canisius 70-55 on Wednesday night.
Rookie Kyle Lofton added 13 points and nine badists for St. Bonaventure (2-5). Nelson Kaputo scored three 3 points and scored 12 points. The Bonnies scored seven goals at three in the first half and finished with nine goals, including three from Lofton.
Saint Bonaventure led 37-23 at halftime after beating Canisius 23-6 compared to 7:48 of the half. Lofton's bank shot at the end of a 10-0 series raised the score to 51-31 halfway through the half.
Jonathan Sanks scored four goals for three and scored the highest of the season with 12 points for Canisius (1-6). Takal Molson added 10 points. The Golden Griffins shot only 35% of the field.
