The long-awaited movie of superstar Rajinikanth 2.0, also featuring Akshay Kumar, has seized the nation. Before the release of the film, Rajinikanth sent his best wishes to the team on social networks and wrote: "Three cheers to the team 2.0. The beautiful day has arrived. (Yes, indeed, the day has come.) Rajinikanth fans lined up in front of the Chennai theaters to watch the first show, which would have started around 4:30 am Rajinikanth's daughter, Soundarya, reportedly watched the movie and his tweet said everything. "Oh my God. 2.0 is out of this world. "Rajinkanth", "Thalaivar" and "India Pride" 2.0"Some of the trends on Twitter and several tweets related to the film and superstar Rajinikanth have been posted. 2.0 is a sequel to Rajinikanth's 2010 blockbuster Enthiran (Robot in Hindi). Rajinikanth takes over the role of Dr. Vaseegaran and resurrects his creation Chitti, the robot. The film marks the first collaboration of Akshay Kumar with Rajinikanth. He plays the antagonist Dr Richards, who turns into a vile creature resembling a bird-bird, after a scientific experiment has failed in the laboratory.

Directed by S Shankar, 2.0 would be done with a budget of 500 crores of rupees and would have already recovered about 370 crores of rupees through digital rights and satellite.
