Zambia has launched the advocacy campaign of the Council of the Southern African Football Association (COSAFA) against Mozambique. said in an interview after the match at Stade François Xavier in Port Louis that a draw was not a bad start for the champions.
He said that Zambia would have no choice but to win the next match against Lesotho.
Lesotho should face South Africa in the other Group B match.
"A draw was not a bad result. Mozambique was a good team, they defended well, we thought we could score a goal in the first half, we were in a hurry to have a goal and we will have to keep pushing. "The next game against Lesotho is a must," the coach said. Luis Victor Funo
He said playing against a good team like Zambia requires serious caution and a draw against Zambia.
"You have to be very careful when playing against a good team like Zambia. . We were expecting them to have total control and push up what they did not do. We tried to capitalize on our skilled wingmen to try and put them under pressure. Zambia have fast attackers, they have a fighting midfielder and some very skilled wingers, our plan was to hold them in the first half, which we did successfully. We went out a little more in the second half with some changes and we could have scored.
The top two teams in each group will qualify for the quarter-finals.
