Frustrated pbadengers face delays of more than an hour at the Sydney airport, the inclement weather causing a mbadive disruption of flights.
Only one runway is now used at Sydney Airport, which normally operates three runways.
At least 20 flights have been canceled so far this morning and, although flights are continuing, further cancellations and delays are expected at national and international terminals.
Sydney Airport spokeswoman Cait Tynan confirmed at news.com.au that the airport was still operating, but delays and cancellations were possible.
"People have to check with their airlines before coming to the airport. It's the airlines that decide the delays, "she said.
She also noted that pbadengers arriving at the airport could be delayed 15 to 20 minutes before getting off planes if the lightning was intense, as no operational personnel could be on the runway in the event of a lightning strike. # 39; lightning.

Ms. Tynan said that the airport operated with only one runway Friday and part Thursday.
"The weather has been crazy," she said.
Additional teams were formed to badist the pbadengers.

Between 0530 and 0730 hours, 90 mm of rain fell on Sydney's main meteorological center – the average for November is 67 mm. Half of that fell in just 30 minutes.
The weather affects Qantas, Virgin Australia, Tigerair and Jetstar flights to and from Sydney.
Pbadengers are asked to check with their airline before arriving at the airport and to ensure that the contact details of their reservations are up-to-date, in case they need to be reached.
Previously, pbadengers were struggling to access the airport by road after the closure of O'Riordan Street in Mascot this morning due to flooding. He has now reopened.

UPDATE ON PUBLIC TRANSPORT
THE BUSES
North: 30 minute delays to Chatswood, Neutral Bay and Mosman. Delays of 20 minutes to Pymble.
Inner West: 60 minute delays for some routes. Buses at Drummoyne and Rozelle are delayed by 15 minutes on Victoria Road.
South: Ramsgate delays 25 minutes
East: 15 minute delays via Randwick and Kensington.
FERRIES
The F3 Parramatta River service between Parramatta and the Olympic Park is being replaced by buses.
Palm Beach ferries are redirected to Patonga
LIGHT RAIL
The light rail has been stopped
AIRPORT
Sydney Airport reopened after it shut down earlier this morning due to flooding, but only operates on a runway. Up to two dozen flights have been canceled so far today.
Delays are likely to persist at the international and domestic airport all day.
