Former president, John Dramani Mahama, will lead a 24-member Commonwealth delegation to observe Zimbabwe's parliamentary elections on July 30.
His appointment follows a role similar to that he played in the general elections in Sierra Leone and Kenya last year.
The elections, which have 23 presidential candidates, while the 270-seat House of Assembly is composed of 210 elected constituency members and 60 proportionally elected women.
