Boulder launched a new campaign called Be Safe, Boulder on Friday that encourages people to stay safe as the coronavirus pandemic continues.
The campaign includes posts from a number of current and former Boulderites, including Boulder-based documentary maker Jeff Orlowski, Olympic cyclist Mara Abbott and Governor Jared Polis.
According to a press release from the city, the campaign was launched almost exactly one year after the World Health Organization declared the coronavirus a global health emergency.
“My heart goes out to all the families who have been shaken by this deadly virus,” Polis says in the video.
Acting city manager Chris Meschuk said in the statement he hoped the messages would inspire people to follow safety protocols and public health guidelines until enough of the population is vaccinated. .
“It’s a really tough time for all of us right now, but we can get over it together,” Orlowski says in the video.
