MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – A 5-year-old boy returned home nearly five months after being thrown from a third-floor balcony of the Mall of America in Minnesota.

The boy's family said Tuesday at a gofundme.com website that their son had completed his hospitalization treatment and had returned home.

According to KSTP-TV, the boy, identified only as Landen, will continue to benefit from outpatient rehabilitation for multiple injuries.

The boy's family said in August that he had been transferred from intensive care to a rehabilitation program.

The boy was thrown to the ground by a stranger in April, at about 12.2 meters.

Emmanuel Aranda, the man who threw Landen, pleaded guilty to attempted first degree murder with premeditation. He told investigators that he had gone to the Bloomington Mall "in search of someone to kill" after women had rejected his advances.
