BREAKING: Fireworks return to Walt Disney World with low-level bursts added to Cinderella’s Castle vacation screening show

Just coming from Magic Kingdom tonight, the very first fireworks display returned to Walt Disney World with low-level gusts added to this year’s new Cinderella Castle holiday projection show.

These are more like pyrotechnics than the full fireworks we are used to seeing during nighttime shows. The different bursts occur at 15 minute intervals with transitions of the four different castle designs. You can check out the castle designs in our first article here.

When the screening show debuted earlier this month, the fireworks did not accompany the screenings nor were they announced, so it’s a special surprise and fun for guests this evening. These special “fireworks” are expected to remain for the rest of Thanksgiving week if not until the end of the holiday season, although this is still not confirmed.

Fireworks tests recently took place at the Magic Kingdom after the park closed, although this has more to do with “Project Nugget”, or preparations for a new nighttime show ahead of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary.
