Brian Flores of Dolphins to reshuffle offensive line in Week 3 game with Raiders, report says

Some changes could be made by the Miami Dolphins on the offensive front, and starting this week, as they are set to take on the Las Vegas Raiders. With quarterback Tua Tagovailoa now healing a rib injury that Flores lists on a day-to-day basis, even if the former first-round pick is able to take the pitch on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium, it’s a fate that he will not be 100% – protecting it from pass rushers being all the more essential. To that end, a reshuffle on the offensive line is potentially in play.

The Dolphins are expected to push second-round rookie pick Liam Eichenberg to left-guard position, which would send Solomon Kindley to the back-up role, according to the Miami Herald. Kindley started the first two games at Flores left guard, but gave up four rushes / four presses QB en route to a 31.8 rating as a pass blocker in Week 2, per PFF, and n was no better at stopping the run in the Dolphins’ 35-0 loss to AFC rivals East Buffalo Bills.

Eichenberg started Week 1 on the left tackle due to Austin Jackson’s increase in the COVID / reserve roster at the time.

Flores also reportedly considered moving Jackson to left guard instead, then sliding right guard Robert Hunt to right tackle – using Eichenberg as depth on the right tackle while right tackle Jesse Davis switched to left guard. . As it stands, nothing is set in stone on Wednesday and everything remains an option for Flores and a Dolphins team trying to recover from a beating at the hands of the Bills that saw Buffalo clinch a total of six sacks in the evening, ending Tagovailoa day early in the process; and prepare to face a 2-0 Raiders team who wish to inflict the same type of punishment.
