Brian J. Kingsley, 50, of Merrill, died Thursday, September 9, 2021, at his home, in the care of his family and Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services. Brian was born on November 19, 1970 in Wisconsin Rapids, the son of the late Robert and Barbara Kingsley. Brian was predeceased by his loving companion and life partner, Peggy (Kleinschmidt) Trantow on December 3, 2019. Brian graduated in 1989 from Assumption High School in Wisconsin Rapids and graduated in 1991 from Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton where he obtained his Associate Degree in Police Science. Brian began his law enforcement career in 1992 with the Tomahawk Police Department. In 1992, Brian was hired by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department. He had reached the rank of detective sergeant. Brian loved snowmobiling and boating. His passion was fishing with Peggy, and he always bet her on who would catch the bigger fish.

Brian is survived by his siblings, Sarah (Brian) Ross of Stevens Point, Douglas (Julie) Kingsley of Akeley, Minnesota, and Jeffrey Kingsley of Stevens Point; her nieces and nephew, Jennifer (Matt) McNelly, Rachel Kingsley and Andrew and Erin Ross; and Peggy’s son, Josh (Amy Berndt) Trantow of Merrill.

A private burial service at Merrill Memorial Park will take place at a later date. Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is helping the family.
