EXCLUSIVE: Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman is investigating a trick whereby Brian Laundrie, Gabby Petito’s fugitive fiancé, entered a Florida campsite 75 miles away with his parents in early September – but only two of them have been seen leaving.
Chapman announced on Saturday that he was entering in search of Laundrie, and tips quickly poured in. He told Fox News he received a tip on Monday that Laundrie’s parents had spent the night at Fort De Soto Park with their son on two separate occasions in early September from September 1. 3 and 6-8 Sept.

He later added: “What we hear is that two people stayed on the 8th. Three people arrived on the 6th and two left on the 8th. I think he’s there for sure.
A Fox News Digital reporter overheard a park worker say that investigators had checked the surveillance video in the field.

Conditions in the park are “much easier” than others, namely the T. Mabry Carlton reserve, where local police and sheriff’s deputies have spent days scouring the dense, swampy terrain, Chapman told Fox News.
Fort De Soto Park is located in Pinellas County and approximately 120 km from the Laundromat House on Wabasso Avenue. It spans over 1,130 acres and consists of five keys.
The advice gives new hope authorities could soon come to a conclusion to what has become a costly weeks-long search for the laundry and a quest for answers that has spanned coast-to-coast. The exhaustive manhunt that spread across the country and garnered massive attention.
Laundrie and Petito, 22, embarked on a cross-country trip in mid-June in a converted white Ford Transit van with the intention of visiting national parks along the way. They had started dating years earlier after meeting at their local high school in Long Island, NY and had moved to North Port, Florida to live with Laundrie’s parents.
On September 1, months after their trip began, Laundrie returned to the North Port home in the couple’s van, but without Petito, officials said. The young woman was not reported missing until 10 days later, on September 11, when her mother filed a police report in Suffolk County, New York. Police seized the van from the laundries’ home on September 11.
Laundrie was later named a person of interest in Petito’s disappearance, and on Thursday the FBI issued an arrest warrant for bank card fraud. Authorities alleged that he used someone’s Capital One Bank card and personal identification number during Petito’s disappearance. Neither investigators nor a spokesperson for Petito’s family said whether the card belonged to Petito.
Fox News recently obtained the Missing Persons Report for Petito, in which her mother Nichole Schmidt said her daughter was last seen at 7 a.m. on August 30 at Grand Teton National Park. Schmidt wrote in the report that his Long Island home was a “likely destination.”
But Laundrie also later disappeared, her parents said through their lawyer.
After Petito’s missing persons report was filed on September 11, Laundrie did not cooperate with the police investigation, officials said. The laundries’ lawyer issued a statement on September 14, in which he announced that he had advised his clients to stay “in the background”. The family revealed three days later that they had not seen him since September 14.
Charlene Guthrie, who lives right across from the Laundrie family, told Fox News she saw Brian Laundrie mow the lawn, ride a bike with his mother and appear to go camping with his parents in the days following his arrival alone. Petito previously lived with the family at their home in North Port, Florida.

Petito’s body was discovered near Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming on September 19. A Teton County coroner has ruled the death a homicide but has yet to announce the cause.
Friends, family and the public paid tribute in a Sunday ceremony on Long Island.
Speaking during the service, Petito’s father, Joseph Petito, called his daughter “the most amazing person I have ever met”.
“I want you to take a look at these photos, and I want you to be inspired by Gabby,” he said on the service. “If there’s a trip you want to take, take it now. Take it now while you have time. If there’s a relationship you are in that might not be the best thing for you. , leave it now. “
