Tim Tebow, a first-round quarterback pick eleven years ago, is trying to make the Jacksonville team a tight end. Jaguars passing coordinator and quarterbacks coach Brian Schottenheimer believes Tebow’s experience in his previous role will help him in his new role.

“You see the spirit of football, you see how he sees the game from a quarterback’s point of view,” Schottenheimer told reporters on Saturday. “There was a room a few days ago in the red zone where I think it was CJ [Beathard] burst and rushed left and the first guy that saw him was Tim and we gave him a touchdown pass. Why is that? Now, he played the position – he stood back there and seen, “Well, he’s moving in that direction, I’ve got to go with him.” It will also be fun to watch him compete in the preseason. “

Schottenheimer also said Tebow has been a “sponge” when it comes to learning his new trade.

“He knows there are things he doesn’t know,” Schottenheimer said. “He asks amazing questions, you know, he really does.”

Tebow will soon have the chance to show what he can do in preseason games, as he tries to earn a place in the 53-man roster, or at least on the practice squad.
