"My family went through a lot of stress and anxiety recently, so I just needed time to cope," Spears said on Instagram.
She added, "You may not know about me, but I'm strong and I defend what I want!"
Spears asked for "a little privacy to cope with all the hardships of life," and claimed that she would come back "very soon".
Later, Spears posted a video of herself training, commenting lightly: "Who knew that stress would be an excellent weight loss of 5 pounds, oh yes for me."
