Sofia. Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova and Sofia City Council President Elena Gerdjikov presented the expansion project for the "Vazrazhdane" park with investments from the Sofiiski Imoti municipal corporation. The park will be expanded by another 25 hectares and a water park and mineral water basins will be built on 6.6 hectares. The water park will have 5 outdoor pools, two water slides, a children's pool and a baby pool. There is an indoor pool and a spa center in the building. Existing trees will be preserved, with more than 400 hardwoods and conifers, 9800 shrubs and 5000 flowers planted. "Our goal is to have the park and water park ready by the end of the year 2019. Thus, Sofia will have more than 80 hectares of new parks with entertainment and sports facilities," said Yordanka Fandakova. According to preliminary estimates, Sofiyski Imoti will invest 9.5 million leva in the project. Part of the funds are provided by the municipal property management and another will be financed by a loan from the Urban Development Fund OP "Regions in Growth". The proposal of the Municipality of Sofia for the expenditure of own funds and a loan of 9.5 million BGN and the completion of the last stage of the park Vazrazhdane will be voted by the Sofia City Council on July 26th. OSCE President Elena Gerdjikov noted that Sofiyski Imoti, a symbol of looting, has become the one who optimally manages commercial property and defends property.
