About 320 cases since the beginning of the year have been reported for diseases and infections caused by blood-borne insects. So far, 226 cases of Lyme disease have been reported in the country – 97 more than at the same time in 2017 and 91 swamp fever – another 14

A total of 12 patients with febrile fever were also reported. Congolese Crimean haemorrhagic fever cases are three at the beginning of the year against none in 2017.

In Varna, the regional health inspectorate recorded a marshal fever and a Lyme borreliosis the last week. For the period from 6 to 12 July 2018, 24 people were bitten by ticks with rapid notification to the sanitary inspection

23 cases were registered in the territory of Varna.
