The search for the missing girl from Panagyurishte, near the Luda Yana River, continues. After yesterday, the body of her 8-year-old sister, drowned in the lush river, police, firefighters and members of the local fishing-hunting company searched the area. Police spokesman Miroslav Stoyanov said the land to be controlled is quite difficult and that 16 groups of police, firefighters and hunters have been trained. Until 17:00, they managed to check the river bed between Panagyurishte and the village of Buta, which is about 6 km. The search continues towards the village of Popintsi, and there is still 10 km. "The terrain is hard, wet, rugged, overgrown with trees and vegetation," commented Mr. Stoyanov and said that with the fall of the night, the search was halted. The Panagurishte district prosecutor's office has resumed preliminary proceedings to clarify the reasons for the death of the 8-year-old girl. Data from medical expertise indicate that there is no sign of violence on the body of the child and that the cause of death is drowning.
Meanwhile, it has become clear that this tragic incident with the children is not the only one in the area. On July 4, a five-year-old boy missing from the village of Isperihovo was reported. Police spokesman Miroslav Stoyanov explained that the signal had been filed several hours after the disappearance of the child. "His body was discovered after a three-day search on July 7, near Krishim in Plovdiv district territory in the bed of Stara Reka.Various volunteers were included – canoeing badociations, speleologists from Peshtera, and the Roma neighborhood in the village of Isperihovo, "commented Mr. Stoyanov.
