Sofia. In the presence of Yordanka Fandakova, Mayor of Sofia, and Deputy Mayor of Transport, Evgeni Krussev, was presented the first hybrid bus test that will last 10 days in public transport in Sofia. The bus will run on line 10-TM. It has an electric motor and meets the Euro 6 standard. During his presentation, the mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova, said that a procedure had already been launched for the purchase of 20 hybrid buses. The words also said that in mid-August, Metropolitan Electric Transportation will accept documents for 15 new electric cars. 20 electric buses are expected to arrive by the end of the year. The mayor of Sofia has asked any producer who has an interest in the Bulgarian market to come with his hybrid bus, operate it on the lines of Sofia and participate in the proceedings of the municipality of Sofia. During the test period, it is necessary to determine the number of harmful emissions that the hybrid bus delivers compared to those of diesel and up to how much it will be effective for Metropolitan Public Transport.
The Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Sofia, Evgeni Krusev, said the hybrid bus is a 4-liter diesel engine whose role is to charge the generator that drives the bus. He added that the bus is for about 100 people, including standing and costs about 350,000 leva, or 30% more expensive than diesel buses.
