A police officer who burned two cars was arrested by police in Peshtera, police spokesman Miroslav Stoyanov said.
A fire alarm signal was filed around 2.30 pm. last night in the police and police station on duty in Peshtera. Firefighters on the spot arrived to extinguish the fire, but the elements destroyed the Renault and Dacia cars.
The fire hit another wooden shed and part of the windows of two houses. The careful examination clearly showed that it was a deliberate fire. In this regard, an operational team began working immediately on the case. After several hours, the law enforcement authorities established and detained the author of the fire – the young Vasil D., 22, from the town of Rhodope. He made a full confession to the investigation team, and material evidence was found to indicate his paternity.
