Bushwick Bill, one of the founding members of Houston's iconic rap group, Geto Boys, has died, reported TMZ. Geto Boys' Scarface has confirmed this news in an Instagram post. In February 2019, Bushwick Bill was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and underwent intensive chemotherapy. He was 52 years old.

Born to Richard Shaw, Bushwick Bill originally joined Geto Boys in the late 1980s as a dancer under the name "Little Billy". The group gained notoriety with its 1991 album We can not stop, whose cover included a photo of Bill at the hospital after losing an eye in a gunshot incident. The rapper has released six solo albums, starting with his debut in 1992 Little big man.

Before his death, a farewell tour of Geto Boys "was announced and then abandoned. Bushwick Bill would have been upset by the title of the tour ("The Beginning of a Long Farewell: The Last Farewell") because it "gave the impression that he was on his bed of death".
