Mayor of South Bend, Ind. CBS told "Face the Nation" that it was not acceptable to receive information from a foreign government about a political opponent.
"Just call the FBI, it's not difficult, it's not complicated," he said. "If you think that there is a foreign effort to manipulate an American election and that you are an American who cares about America, call the FBI."
Buttigieg also said that this issue "is not hypothetical", referring to Russia's attempts at interference in the last elections.
"We were attacked by a hostile foreign power who decided that they could harm America, destabilize America by intervening in elections to help it win. Buttigieg's remarks come after President Trump said Wednesday that he would consider accepting information opposing political opponents from foreign entities.
