The FIFA Women's World Cup 2019 in France began Friday (June 7th) as the host country faced South Korea in Paris. Twenty-four nations will face each other in France to defend the right to win the most coveted sport trophy. The US Women's National Team is one of the favorites in the competition, having won the 2015 World Cup in Canada by beating Japan in the final. The United States begins its participation against Thailand on June 11.
