Mickey Callaway told reporters before Saturday's game against the Cardinals of St. Louis that Jacob deGrom might not need to get an MRI on Monday.

Callaway said the right-hander would still be examined by the team's doctors, but he felt good enough that it would be considered unnecessary to have an MRI.

30 years was seen caught in the left field of Busch Stadium after learning Friday that his elbow was barking.

As a result, the Mets placed him on the inactive list retroactive to April 14, his last start against the Atlanta Braves. The team expects it to be activated on Friday, April 26 to begin the first game of a three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers at Citi Field.

DeGrom was eliminated early in the night that was scheduled to take place on Saturday in place of Chris Flexen. DeGrom talked about what he thought the injury had to do with the video clip below.
