Can I switch to The Division 2 Gold Edition?

After all, it's one of two guaranteed ways to get your hands on the game early, and is filled with a bunch of other bonuses that will earn you extra money. But if you have already bought Division 2 is it possible to upgrade or edit editions on PC, Xbox One and PS4 or even get a refund for Division 2? Well, it is possible, but it will be a little more complex than you would have imagined.

Can I go to Division 2 OR Edition?

Unfortunately, there is no hard and fast way to upgrade to the previous version. Division 2 Gold Edition once you have pre-ordered the Standard Edition, which is frustrating to say the least. But the idea that there is no refund available after purchase is, in most cases, bogus. And this is the method you will have to use to make sure you do not have to shell out your money by buying two copies of the same game.

So, to "pass" to Division 2 Gold Edition, you will need to get a refund of your current pre-order, then buy Gold Edition in the storefront of your choice. Be aware that the initial refund may take a few business days before returning to your bank account. So buy nothing if you are not sure you can afford it.

On PC, you will need to contact a Ubisoft Live Chat representative. You can do this here by scrolling through the blue banner labeled "Contact Customer Support".

Log in and calmly explain the situation while requesting a refund. They will guide you through the process. In case of failure, Ubisoft support on Twitter will allow you to directly access the refund process, provided you do so before. Division 2 unlock the weather on March 15th.

It's a little trickier on PS4 because you do not talk to someone face to face (so to speak). Instead, you will need to fill out this contact form.

Finally, with Microsoft on Xbox One, things go wrong. Log in and check the history of your orders. Find Division 2 and press "Cancel Item".

Once this is done (and you are sure that the refund has been processed / is being processed), you can simply go to the platform shop and buy Division 2 OR edition.
