For those who live the life of multiple devices, which is probably a lot of people, it is essential to be able to pair your favorite connected headset with two devices at the same time. For example, you sit at the cafe working on a big project and listening to your Coffeehouse playlist. Then a customer makes a phone call and you must answer any questions and concerns you may have. With the NCH 700, you can answer the call from your phone, the music on your laptop or tablet will pause for the duration of the call and you will be able to do it all.

This is a feature that is surprisingly lacking in other options on the market, such as the Sony WH1000XM3. Bose made sure that its latest version did not stray, and that's what stands out best when you look at everything you find in this elegant package.

Are there any nuances to that?

There is usually a disadvantage when these additional features are added to a set of new headphones. However, this is not the case with the Bose NCH 700 because you can pair up to eight devices before the oldest paired device is removed from the list.

Bose specifies that these headphones will only be actively connected to the two newest devices when they are turned on. A disadvantage, although not very big, is that the audio can only be read from one device at a time. This is not a big problem, because your headphones will most likely be associated with your phone (for phone calls) and a tablet or computer that you use to do your work or for a game session.

In cases where you want to switch between playback devices, you must first pause the audio on the primary device, and then press play on the secondary device. This allows you to easily switch between your phone, tablet, laptop and the Bose NCH 700 without going through the rigmarole of manually switching the active Bluetooth connection.
