Regina police arrested and charged a 22-year-old man with murdering a 21-year-old man earlier this week.
The police now identify the victim as Miguel Lucas Antoan Lane. He died in the hospital early Wednesday morning after being found seriously injured by the police. They were summoned to report a shootout on the 2800 block of Sinton Avenue Tuesday night.
An investigation led officers to arrest Austin Thomas Yates.
Yates is charged with second degree murder and appeared for the first time in court Friday morning.
The police and the coroner are still investigating the exact circumstances of the death.
It was the sixth murder of the year in the city.
