Three people were taken to hospital after being injured on a busy street in downtown Toronto on Saturday night, police said.
The shooting occurred around Queen Street West and Peter Street. is in critical condition while another is in life threatening condition, paramedics have said. One of the victims is in their twenties.
According to a nurse, a woman in her thirties is in serious condition.
Police first stated that one person had no vital signs on the scene. He said that he was at the corner of Spadina Avenue and Queen Street West at the time of the shooting.
"I heard what looked like construction work, it seemed like a lot of people were hammering very fast and echoing the buildings," he said.
"Then I probably saw about 50 people running west through Queen after Spadina, so we started running too."
Two suspects were seen heading north and may have fled in a SUV or black white car,
Queen Street West will be closed between Peter Street and Spadina Ave. the police investigate
