  • Warning: There are big problems for season 9 of "The Walking Dead", episode 15, "The Calm Before".
  • INSIDER spoke to Katelyn Nacon about her character, Enid, who was surprised to be killed and how she and other "TWD" stars were expecting more regular customers the series be killed.
  • Nacon said she was disappointed that towards the end of her role, she became another love interest.
  • "It's sad that you already have a very strong female character in your series, but then you put your script in a man-centered way," said Nacon.

The Sunday episode "The Walking Dead" of AMC gave a great moment to comics by killing 10 characters, including Enid, the longtime character of Katelyn Nacon.

Nacon, who is part of the five-year series and was promoted to the series before the start of season eight, has been talking with INSIDER about when she learned that it was possible that ### Enid be killed and she's a little crazy. Too bad the zombie drama cast Enid into another relationship after his last with Carl.

She also explained how bad she was in a first version of the episode script and in the next project she's already featured on Hulu.

Nacon discovered that Enid had been killed in the drama shortly before turning on Sunday's episode.

At first, Katelyn Nacon stated that she had not planned to be part of the Sunday episode.

Kirsten Acuna: When did you discover for the first time that the highlight of the comic was happening and that your time in the series was coming to an end?

Katelyn Nacon: I had the general discussion with [showrunner] Angela [Kang] at the beginning of the shoot. It was in April or May of last year. We had a general meeting and she said that it was possible that it was my character. I mean, they were not too sure until August. I went there all season, knowing that there was a chance, but not really. So [it was] a little in limbo for a year. Then I think it was around November and that episode 15 was going to turn in a week.

I still did not know if my character would be gone or not. So, I emailed them and they called me and said it was my character.

Acuna: OK, so when we spoke in December, you knew. Were you surprised to be part of the characters on the spades? What was your reaction?

Nacon: I mean, I always knew that there was a possibility, I never knew for sure. I leave myself a little optimistic through the season, but at the same time I have a sense of realism. [on the pikes]. I mean I was a little surprised because it happened at the last minute. But anyway, I already knew that it was a possibility, so I could not have done much. It was a week before the start of the filming of 9.15, this episode I discovered.

Nacon and others thought that more people and more regulars like Christian Serratos and Khary Payton would be on the pikes.

According to Nacon, Christian Serratos, who plays Rosita, and Khary Payton, who plays the role of King Ezekiel, thought they were going to be among the victims. Both are killed in comics during this scene. As we know, the series likes to change things.

Acuna: Have you been surprised by anyone else on spades like Tara and Henry? Did you know or was it secret, because it does not happen in comics.

Nacon: Honestly, I was surprised that it was no longer regulars of the series other than me and Alanna. Because when we first talked about it at the beginning of the season, we had the impression that there would be a lot of tall people, their heads on the spades, but I was really a bit surprised by to find that it was just her and all the other regulars in the series. I thought there would be more.

The pike unveiling of Sunday's episode showed 10 people, including Enid, Tara, and a number of historical and recurring characters.

Acuna: I think the big problem for this episode was that fans were wondering if Ezekiel was going to be killed or not. He receives the great death in the comics, and it went to Henry. How do you think people will react to changes? Or how do you expect them to answer?

Nacon: I do not know. I know that many people were surprised to learn that it was me. I know, even Khary [Payton] and Christian [Serratos], they thought it was going to be them until the episode came out so we could all read it. They sort of spent the whole year too, just wondering if they were going to die or not before they had the episode and saw it was not them.

Acuna: D & # 39; AGREEMENT.

Nacon: So I think everyone was a bit surprised.

Nacon thought that his character was going to die years ago and was disappointed that his character was stuck in another relationship

Acuna: Have you ever had the impression that you might be staying longer in the series? Or did you have the impression that your time was up in the series?

Nacon: I thought I was going to die in season six. I did not think my character was going to last that long. So I'm happy to have succeeded as far as me. But I mean, I do not know. I think that around the eighth season, things started to slow down a lot [Enid]. She was often in the background and her story was not really progressing. Even with the new season, she became a doctor, but the series did not really progress with her character, apart from becoming a doctor and making a boyfriend.

So honestly, I think the content was short of content for her or something? I'm not really sure.

The jump in the new season had allowed Enid to follow in Siddiq's footsteps and become a doctor.

Acuna: I wanted to ask you a question about it. I wanted to ask if it was a painful point or a point of frustration at all, when you discovered that it was possible. When we spoke in December, you said that you had the impression that Enid did not have his own plot in season eight. It was a little in tune with Maggie's. You had said that Enid had become Maggie's puppy and that the show had lost sight of the first Enid we had met. The one who was independent, who took charge. I think we saw a part of it in season 9. But did you feel that the show was coming back this season?>

Nacon: I mean, at the beginning of the year, I thought it was fine if she learned to become a doctor and everything. I thought that there was going to be exciting things ahead, but I was a little disappointed by the second [half] of the season of her just kind of being pushed down into a role of love interest.

But she has a lot more to do than go back to where she started. Yes, I was a little disappointed because my screenplay was always centered or centered on someone else 's character.

Enid was in a relationship "are they" / "are not they" with Alden after the time jump? It was a relationship that Nacon told INSIDER in December when she thought she was supposed to go to Maggie's character.

Acuna: Right. Well, I was going –

Nacon: It's sad that you already have a very strong female character in your series, but then you put her storyline in a man-centered way.

How did Alpha kidnap someone like Enid, whose motto of the early zombie apocalypse was "JSS" – "Just Survive Somehow"? Even Nacon does not know it.

Enid came up with the saying "JSS" after losing his parents.
Gene / AMC page

Acuna: That's what I was wondering when watching this episode because I've watched it a few times now. How on earth did Alpha kidnap or convince someone like Enid to accompany him? I have the impression that it goes completely against the character of Enid. Enid is not a fool. His mantra was JSS: "Survive somehow."

Nacon: Honestly, I have no idea. They never explained to us how we got there or when we were there because I was also with Alden all the time during the fair. I do not know how I ended up there.

Acuna: Yeah. I did not know if you maybe filmed something or if there was something that was not successful.

Nacon: No, we just cut the sequence of beating ourselves and our cut heads. Originally, I did not have as much as me, [until] the second interpretation of the script. Originally, I had two lines or more [in the episode].

Alpha proved that she was able to deceive others during the Sunday episode, including King Ezekiel.

Acuna: Interesting. I'm glad we saw more of you in the episode. For others, like Frankie, we see them for a split second and then you say, "Oh, they are on pike. I forgot that they were people who were still alive in the apocalypse.

Nacon: Yeah. Very interesting.

Acuna: I thought it was perhaps a testimony of the dangerousness of the Alpha. The fact that she's just able to catch people like Tara and Enid, but I really would have liked to see you with Samantha Morton. Otherwise, the only scenario where I saw Enid being captured and taken against her will was if chlorophyll was involved or someone slipped behind her and stabbed her.

Nacon: Yeah. Well, they even show … Alpha comes in dress. She is disguised at the fair and everything. So, [Enid] could easily have been taken by force. I do not know. I'm in the dark as much as you.

Enid does not blame Henry for his death.

Henry found Lydia and the Whisperer camp, leading to a series of events during which Alpha infiltrated the fair of King Ezekiel and took 10 people, including Henry, to kill.
Gene / AMC page

Acuna: Well, a less serious question. Do you think Enid knew that everything was Henry's fault in the end, or would he blame him for his death?

Nacon: No, I do not think in any way that she would ever blame Henry. I do not think she would ever blame anyone for her death. I think that she has long lived to blame the death of her parents. I have the impression that she has finally come to the point where she realized that there is not much you can do, or control, in all of these situations. I think that she knew that it was not her fault, and she cared a lot about Henry, so I do not think in any way that she would blame him.

Acuna: What do you think are the last thoughts of Enid? Because we do not see them. Do you think she was thinking about Carl or Alden? Would she finally be happy to be with Carl or something totally different?

Nacon: Oh, do people have one last thought or something?

Acuna: No, we have not heard of the latest thoughts you could have had. But I was just wondering, if we could have seen you in your final moment before you were killed, what was going on in Enid's head?

Nacon: I think she'd be delighted to see her parents and see Glenn.

In December, Nacon told us that Glenn was one of the most influential people in his life after losing his parents.

Acuna: D & # 39; AGREEMENT. It makes sense.

Nacon: A little money.

Who's running Hilltop now? Nacon guesses Daryl.

Each leader of the hill seems to die. If Daryl does not take over, I guess Bertie is still watching the band.
Gene / AMC page

Acuna: Well, who now heads the hilltop with you and Tara dead, and Jesus dead, and Gregory dead, and Maggie AWOL. It seems like it's not a big role to play.

Nacon: I guess it's going to be Daryl. I do not know. I guess it's just in limbo right now. I thought it would be me or Alanna, but they did not even really cement it. Then, Darryl came in suddenly and jumped [the Hilltop].

Daryl spoke for the Hilltop when Alpha arrived with the Whisperers.
Gene / AMC page

Acuna: Yes, he sort of spoke for you when Alpha just arrived with The Whispers at Hilltop, but I do not know, he seems to be doing his own thing.

And after? Nacon already has another series on Hulu.

Acuna: What's next for you? For the past four years, you have been preparing for the upcoming season of "The Walking Dead". You are at Walker Stalker Berlin right now. Are there any other movies, shows, music you work on or are you excited about?

Nacon: Yes, in fact, I just moved to California. So I've been there for two months and I just booked a new job. So I'm going to be on the second season of "Light as A Feather" on Hulu.

Acuna: Oh, exciting! Congratulations.

Nacon: Yes, very exciting. Yes, so I start shooting on April 7th. I'm already going back to work, which is very good, very exciting.
