A special ceremony was held at the Guelph Cenotaph on Saturday morning.

The city has added 43 new names to the board of honor.

All of them, men and women of Guelph, lost their lives in the First and Second World Wars.

The city said it received requests for public information in 2014 about names likely to be missing.

They then asked the public to provide the names of members of the Canadian Forces who died as a result of their military service.

This call resulted in 89 names.

The Guelph Museums then reviewed the military records to determine if they were to appear on the honor board.

33 of these names were already on the cenotaph and 13 could not be included in the city's cenotaph policy.

A list of new names can be found on the Guelph Museums website.

The addition was made before the service of Remembrance Sunday.
